Peter Rune Christiansen (PRC) 'Backspinning' 15/11 - 08/01
B15 is proud to present a new series of works for the show 'Backspinning'.
PRC works in a crossfield between painting and relief. He thus experiments with his use of materials and the process as an artistic rendering in itself. The title of the show 'Backspinning' refers to playing a vinyl record backwords or against the hands of time. Music has been a close inspiration all through PRC's career aiming to portray the words and sounds of music into a new material form on canvas as the show demonstrates. PRC graduated from the royal danish academy of arts in 2005, and has worked primarily as a painter, where he choses to work within a field between abstract and figurative art. As a viewer standing in front of the works we come close within a pattern of recognzition, but just before we witness a clear reality we are again forced into a new situation which is equal parts abstraction and personal imagination.
The works in the show takes us back to masters such as Claude Monet and Mark Rothko, they are noisy and monumetal and fragile and delicate all at once.
It is Peter Rune Christiansen first soloshow at B15.
